Emilia Mala is a London-based contemporary fashion brand launched in 2017 with a beautiful range of printed silk scarves. The objective was to create a contemporary update to silk scarf in a fun and interesting way combining dark aesthetic edginess and elegance into vibrant hand-drawn print stories re-inventing a classic accessory.

Emilia Mala originally started as a side project out of passion for illustration and visual art. It quickly gained its consumer fanbase and reached many stores in the UK and internationally including Harvey Nichols.

Anna Tuomaala is the creative mind behind the Emilia Mala brand. The name comes from her middle name and end of her surname. All the prints are based on hand drawn illustrations made by her.

Spring Summer 22 season we expanded to RTW collection which is a combination of RTW and swimwear. Anna studied MA Womenswear at St Martins and previously worked with RTW collections in London and Antwerp and with swimwear/lingerie at Agent Provocateur as well as consulting multiple start-up brands.

Having a background in womenswear, swimwear & lingerie and print design, the debut collection brings together all of those three disciplines. Emilia Mala SS22 collection combines references from eveningwear and sportswear to deconstructed mens shirts maintaining the aesthetics built previously with scarves collections. Accompanied with vibrant print and colour story the collection is playing with the context of RTW and swimwear; the space between beach and city.
