Emilia Mala is a luxurious London-based brand, launched with a beautiful range of printed silk scarfs in 2017. Emilia Mala presents two collections per year with plans to expand to Ready to Wear in 2019.
Since the launch, Emilia Mala has been featured in the British Vogue and stocked in several online retailers & boutiques in the UK and internationally.
Using mixed media and hand-drawn illustrations, Emilia Mala relies on visual story telling; using vibrant colours, drawing inspiration from old films, fine art, Finnish forests, graffiti and vanitas paintings, combining vintage elegance into dark aesthetics.
Emilia Mala scarves are made in England from high quality silk and hand-finished with rolled hems.
Anna Tuomaala is the creative mind behind the Emilia Mala brand.
The brand name comes from her middle name and the end of her surname.
Anna was born in Finland and educated in womenswear design at Aalto University in Helsinki, Ravensbourne College (BA) and Central Saint Martins in London (MA Womenswear Design). She has worked with many brands in London & Antwerp, including Les Chiffoniers & Agent Provocateur before starting Emilia Mala.
Partnering with Christo - a tech entrepreneur, Emilia Mala started originally as a project out of passion for illustration, visual art and excellent craftsmanship.
