Emilia Mala is a London-based contemporary fashion brand, launching with a collection of digitally printed silk scarfs in 2017 and plans to expand to Ready to Wear next year.
Since launch, Emilia Mala has been featured in the British Vogue and stocked in several online retailers & boutiques in the UK and internationally.
Using mixed media & hand-drawn illustrations, Emilia Mala relies on visual story telling; using vibrant colours, drawing inspiration from old films & vanitas paintings, combining vintage jetset elegance into dark aesthetics.
Emilia Mala scarves are made in England from high quality silk and hand-finished with rolled hems in our studio in Shoreditch.
Anna Tuomaala is the creative mind behind the Emilia Mala brand.
Anna was born in Finland and educated in womenswear design at Aalto University in Helsinki, Ravensbourne College (BA) and Central Saint Martins in London (MA Womenswear Design). She has worked with many brands in London & Antwerp, including Les Chiffoniers & Agent Provocateur before starting Emilia Mala.
Partnering with Christo - a tech entrepreneur, Emilia Mala started as a project out of passion for illustration, visual art and excellent craftsmanship.
