EMILIA MALA

La Maison

Emilia Mala is a London-based contemporary fashion brand launched in 2017 with a beautiful range of printed silk scarves.

Our objective was to create a contemporary update to silk scarf in a fun and interesting way combining dark aesthetic and elegance into vibrant hand-drawn print stories re-inventing a classic accessory.

Emilia Mala started as a project out of passion for illustration and visual art.

We quickly gained our consumer base and reached many stores in the UK and internationally including Harvey Nichols and Design Museum in London.

Anna Tuomaala is the creative mind behind Emilia Mala. The brand name comes from her middle name and end of her surname. All our prints are based on hand drawn illustrations made by her.

Anna studied MA Womenswear at St Martins and previously worked with RTW collections in London and Antwerp and with swimwear/lingerie at Agent Provocateur as well as consulting multiple start-up brands.

2022
Emilia Mala expands to Ready-to-wear and Swim/Bodywear collections. Anna merges together disciplines, blurring the lines between RTW, Swimwear and Accessories and playing with the context of RTW and swimwear; the space between beach and city.

Sustainability
We strive on using fully biodegradable, recycled and upcycled dead-stock material from fabric mills. Our swimwear is made from Econyl, lycra that has been made purely from ocean waste. Our scarves are produced in England and in Italy, at the world famous silk district in Lake Como.
